We finally got the storeroom rack! Now its much more spacious and neater.
Too bad we forgot to take a pic of the bomb shelter before we got the rack. It's was super messy. Now we can even dance in the bomb shelter..haha!

We have been so busy with work, friends and celebrations (weddings, birthdays,xmas,new year etc) that we dont really have time and resources to do more for our Palace.

Actually there's more that we could add on if we had more $$$$ to spare. Thought we could list it down so we can at least fulfil some of it when we can afford to. We are contented with what we have now so perhaps this list would be a list of "wants"

- Storeroom rack

Our storeroom is stacked with stuffs and more stuffs! The other day, we saw a cockroach and were completely freaked out!!! Princess killed the cockroach! woohoo!
Anyway perhaps this would be the type that we want or some racks on wheels so we could shift it around and play with space.

- Oven

An oven for baking cakes and cookies! Then we can bake cookies whenever we feel like it. Perhaps our very own birthday cake too..Heehee

- Display cabinet

For all the soft toys that are being stacked up at the corner of the room.

- Coffee Machine

We fell in love with Nespresso after our hotel stay at Fullerton..

- A book shelf

For the Harry Potter collection and mostly for Prince's working stuffs.

- Chaise Lounge

To be placed at the cosy little area in the Master Bedroom

Christmas Tree

We wanted to place a Christmas Tree in the Palace quite a few weeks ago.... The trees are so expensive! Ranging from $30 to $500.. Of course, the cheaper it is, the lower quality it is. We dont think a $3o tree can last for 2 years because the shape of the tree and material are very important for maintenance and storage purposes. Anyway we bought a 6 ft tree at a reasonable price. Rem our housewarming vouchers? It was well utilized for the tree and the accessories.

The accessories

The accessories were Taka and Ikea. Those from Taka were real expensive but its really very nice. The theme for our Christmas tree is GOLD.

Not exactly magnificient but we are happy to do up the tree and decorate with accessories. Our Palace is instantly brightened up by the presence of the Christmas tree!

The Princess Gowns

I have been trying to locate the photos of the gowns that I took during my gown selection. Strangely, I cant find the photo of the love-at-first-sight blue gown when I first tried it on. Anyway here are my gowns!

Top is sewn on with sequins and from the waist down , the material is light and flow-ey. Very princessy feel. :)

Opps..realised that we have not posted anything for almost a month!

Well..busy with work and housework of course. Princess managed to try out more dishes and be more confident in her culinary skills. Haha! Prince has to be the guinea pig. If he doesnt try, Princess cannot improve. Hehe.

We are quite excited about December approaching...because its going to be our ROM anniversary and we are going for our honeymoon!!

House Warming!

The night before the housewarming, Princess was busy cleaning up the house and making sure that everything was nicely done because she is very proud of her own house! Who wont be proud of their own house?? As usual, Prince left everything to the next day when Princess nagged at him to help out. But the good thing was that he did help out the next day.

Slept at around 2am then woke up early to settle the rest of the stuffs. Managed to get everything done and had some light food for brunch. Prince left in the early afternoon to get the cakes that we ordered while Princess stayed home to wait for the caterer.

Luckily Princess stayed at home to wait because the caterer came very early!! Phew. Wanted to do the setup outside the house but the tables were too big for the walkway so suggested that they move everything into the house. Made the dining area very cramped but no choice. Tada! Very simple setup.Haha! Done within 15 minutes..

Prince received lots of presents from his students yesterday and Princess is very proud of his achievements and the awards he has gotten from the school and the students. Thank you girls for all your lovely cakes, muffins, chocolates, cards and presents! :)

The bridal car! Once in a lifetime opportunity to get a prime spot at the Hotel.Our modest car was parked beside the super expensive cars tho...Feels strange but who cares!

We were entitled to in room dining and these were what we ordered!

Laksa. Its very tasty and u cant help but gobble up everything! Unhealthy but its a must try!

Their chilli is simply sedap!

Look at what they put in the laksa! Expensive but the ingredients are really worth the money

Decided to give their western food a try too. Its nice but pales in comparison with the laksa because its simply tasty

Western food goes best with creamy soup. This is one of the best mushroom soup we ever had!

Our Wedding

The wedding day!

After a year of preparations, from choosing of hotel ballrooms, bridal gowns, photographers, videographers to the delicate details of timing, wedding flavours.. That day has finally arrived!

8th Jun 2008!

Woke up at 5am in the morning.. zzzZZ . Mummy made coffee for me. Soon the makeup artist arrived and did her magic..Then the PG and VG arrived followed by the Sisters. So glad to see all of them.Sneaked out for a toilet break and some photo taking before continuing with the makeup. Makeup artist did a slow but wonderful job :)

Took some more photos before Daddy and Mummy put down my veil and then I went to my room to "hide".
Hanni came to accompany me in the room. Luckily I had her if not I would be soooo bored. We chatted for a while. It has been ages since we last had a nice chat! Took photos with her and Mummy who came in to chat too.

Then we heard car horns and I knew they were here! My Prince and the Brothers!Haha

Then there were several outbursts at the corridor. It seemed so fun that I wanted to run out and see also but had to control myself. So I distracted myself and took some photos with Hanni. Mummy came in and we took some photos too. Heehee..

But wait! There's another task for him before he can have the keys to my room!

I got ready to sit down to wait for Prince to come in with my bouquet. That magical moment finally arrived and I saw him sweating with his cowboy hat.. haahaa.. Made him take out the cowboy hat and combed his hair.. Haha.. So messy.

Then we went out of the room and the sisters threw heart shaped confetti at us..heehee. I asked them to perform the Jay dance for me again. Yippee! They did it again for me! Haha.. They were great!

Gave Daddy and Mummy a big hug and we left the house to Prince's place for the tea ceremony. My gown was so big and heavy that my sisters had to hold it up for me wherever I went.

After the tea ceremony was over, we took more photos and off we went to our Palace. Went to take lots of photos!

After phototaking, I went to change to my Kua with the help of my sisters. I thought I really looked ugly in a Kua but on that day, surprisingly, I thought I looked fine. hahaha!

Next up was the lunch buffet!! So hungry! Changed into something comfortable and finally tucked in with the rest.

After lunch , we set off for Fullerton Hotel! Service was real great! The hotel people were at the lobby waiting for us and greeted us the moment we stepped out of the car. They helped us to carry our stuff to our hotel room. I tell you , we had so much stuff you would think that we were moving to the hotel to stay.. Haha

Our Suite was fabulous! Two storeys high and it's so luxurious! More about that later!

Bathed and tried to wash off my make up and hairdo. The trick was to put lots of conditioner to remove the hairspray and gel and whatever was on my hair..Phew. By the time I finished, it was almost time for my makeup for the evening. Didnt even nap :(

The makeup artist arrived and makeup started again! Tried to nap while she was doing my makeup. Heehee.

Prince had to go off for the meeting with the hotel co-ordinator and the bridal party soon after but I wasnt done with my makeup yet. I wasnt bored of course..Heehee.. QY, Jia and the others came soon after. After everything was done, I changed into my gown and shoes and went down to the ballroom to practise marching down the stairs because I was really worried that I would trip and fall. Did it a few times before we finally got it right.

After the practise, we rushed off for phototaking at the hotel. Didnt manage to capture any shots in the beautiful suite.Sigh....Anyway we took quite a bit of photos and some Caucasians who were in the hotel asked to take photos of me... :D hahahaha..

By the time we were done with photo taking, it was close to 7pm. We were both very tired so the coffee machine in our Suite came to good use! I made a cuppa for Prince and we left for the reception.

When we saw the guests, our tiredness wore off and we were so happy to see everyone taking time off to attend our special event.

At 7.45pm, the ballroom doors opened and there were greeted by the song True Love's kiss as they walked down the stairs and towards their seats.

Time flew past and soon it was almost time for our 1st march in to the Ballroom. The guests watched a cartoon animation of our love story and the Banquet Manager asked us to be on standby at the entrance. He was very helpful and gave us some words of support before we entered the Ballroom. Off we went, a very smooth march in.. We were overjoyed and felt really special.. heehee..

Our guests were great! Most of them arrived on time and Dinner commenced earlier than we expected! We finally could sit down and have a quick bite. Prior to that , we didnt eat anything. Was too busy and tired to eat at all.

After Shark's Fin, I had to go for my second change of gown and Prince had to change his clothes too. So we ran up to the Suite and changed as fast as we could. We were very fast and got down even bef0re the scheduled timing. Second march in! Champagne pouring and the toast and speech! Before that, the guests had a quick preview of what happened earlier in the morning with the video highlights.

Went around to take table photos and had a quick chat with our guest. After all the tables were donw, we decided to run up for our third change of clothes before dessert was served and I did a Cinderella. Took out my shoes and ran coz my feet was aching already. Managed to get back in time for our dessert.

We even had time to play with my cute little nephew for a while.

When all the guests had left, we went back to the ballroom to have some more food. Was relieved its over but it was really a very beautiful and wonderful day for both of us. Simply very happy. :) Went back to the Suite to wash up and we decided to count our ang pows! By the time we finished with the ang pows, we were really exhausted.. But so happy.... :)

2 More Weeks

The past few weeks flew through. Prince and Princess finally got the keys to their long awaited castle! No more building of castles in the air! Renovation kicked off soon after. We were so glad that we had already confirmed our interior designs way before we got the keys. Sort of predicted that this kind of scenario might happen and we are ready for it!

We tried to take a look at the progress after work everyday. There were no lightings yet so we had to bring in a lamp and look at the developments in the dark. Haha. But it is so fulfilling to be able to see our dream castle build up progressively as each day passes. Can't wait to move in already. Next week , we should be able to move in the furniture! The numbers in our bank account is decreasing like never before.. Oh well.. Hope we can survive for the months down the road. Why didnt we strike the $5 million toto? Haha

Princess has finally completed the montage! Phew.. Our tables just keep on adding up and we are worried about the potential losses. Be mercy to us! :)

Almost all the invites have been given out. Princess tied 280 ribbons to the cards and Prince slotted in 280 cards in envelopes and pasted them with our personalised sticker. We were real tired after one and a half days of repetitive writing, sticking of invites to the cards, tying ribbons and sticking. Totally exhausted. We wonder if we were getting old or was it the monotonous boring activity.

The next two weeks should be another flash and it will be our big day soon!

One month!

Its only one month left to our big day! We have met up with the hotel co-ordinator to settle the decoration, tables, wedding flavours and wedding cards! Worked very hard the past few days to get things done.

Prince and Princess met up with the Brothers too! It was fun to be with them and we can imagine the laughter when we meet up again on our special day. We finally settled the attire required for them. Can't wait to see them in their "uniforms" It was really funny to see those guys wearing the same color and looking quite "sad" about being forced to wear that color. But it's really nice! Haha!

Getting so excited about the biggest day of our lives and looking forward to it!!

Guo Da Li

Oh gosh. It's been almost a month since the last update. Sorry but we have been really busy. Time really flies!

Last Sunday, we had our Guo Da Li ( 过大礼) which is actually a traditional custom for Betrothal. Prince had to come with an auntie whose role is somewhat like a "matchmaker". They brought over several items.

Then Princess' Mummy had to return some of the gifts.

We tried to keep it simple and modern so didnt go to the extend of getting some other stuff for the occassion.

Bridesmaids Gathering!

Had our Bridesmaids gathering at Princess' home! The girls came over after lunch and we looked at the wedding photo albums together. The bridesmaids dresses were finally settled! Made them try it out and they look so cute in that pretty dress! haahaa

After that we did up the ang pow box. It was a very humid day so I made fruit cocktail for them. I think it was the weather that made everyone sleepy. After a while, we decided to have some afternoon snacks then continued to do up the ang pow box. Very satisfied with the final product! Next up, we tried to discuss the plans for gatecrashing on the actual day. Heehee. I cannot reveal it here because Prince will know about it ;p

Food tasting!

We finally arranged for food tasting at Fullerton! Supposed to be only for 8 persons but in the end, the hotel co-ordinator informed us that they could arrange for 10 persons. So nice!

We are quite disappointed that the menu had changed. Last time it was Chinese Western fusion and it was very tasty! But now they switched to the traditional chinese food which is quite boring..We thought it will be better to serve the guests something different from the normal hotel banquet food. We spend so much per table just to get boring food.. But no choice.. just hope that the food will be very tasty on that day to make up for the standard boring food.

After the dinner, the chef came out to discuss if the food were to our liking. We managed to change some of the dishes and hope that it would turn out to be nice!

Next up would be the selection of ballroom decor and the wedding favours!

Nitty Gritty

Its only about 2 months to the big day! Prince and Princess have started to do up the actual day schedule.. All the nitty gritty has to be finalized soon. The list of things to do looks never ending but we shall update on what we have done to make ourselves feel accomplished for the moment. Haha

We bought our dining and coffee table after an impromptu shopping session with our designer. Managed to get a 15% discount and had about $400 plus savings! Managed to keep it within our tight budget. Forgot to take pics .. But there's more to be spent. Still need to go shopping for curtains and lightings. We just hope we can survive after the end of the day and not give in to impulsive buying for our lovely palace. We are still waiting anxiously for our keys before renovation can be carried out..

We have collected our wedding albums!! So excited when the co-ordinator called and said that it was ready for collection. The outdoor shots are simply lovely!

Princess finally bought her "Cinderella-like" shoes for her evening gown! .. Haahaa. After searching for a few months, the almost perfect shoe was found for the occassion. The right color, size and height and its affordable!

Next up, we have to
~ Print our wedding cards and post out the cards
~ Arrange for food tasting
~ Get the bridesmaid dresses
~ Arrange for Dads' Jackets
~ Purchase wines
~ More to add with each passing day!

The last few days, we were busy with sending out the initial notification and invites to our friends ! SMSes and emails! Those who got emailed were 'lucky' to catch a glimpse of us in our wedding attire! Haha! Those who have not replied on your availability, let us know soon ok! =)

Wedding Album Layout

Prince and Princess caught a glimpse of their wedding album layout! Beautifully done. We couldnt stop looking at the layout over and over again. Love the outdoor shots despite the fact that it was only a few pages. Happy and contented =)

Feel like printing some of the photos and frame it up once our palace is ready. Narcissism you might say but its our palace. So we will put up lots of our lovely photos and admire ourselves everyday. Muahaha! You can only be young once and spend a bomb on such photos once in a lifetime. No point keeping and hiding the photos once the event is over so make the most out of it!

Our co-ordinator says we should be able to get our albums end of March! Thats early! But we have no complaints about that.

We tried to call up the developer to "rush" them into giving us our keys. Its almost nearing the end of Feb and there has not been any news. We still need some time to do some renovation before we can move in.

Princess has been working hard scanning and doing up the photo montage. Hope to finish it by end of March too! Now racking our brains for the storyline for our animation. How are we going to incorporate a fairytale theme to our love story? Drop us ideas if you have any! =)

Another update

People have been asking us how's life after being married. We can only reply that everything is still the same because we are not staying together yet.. Still waiting to get our house keys and do up our lovely palace!

From the last update, we have .......
1)Seen our photoshoot photos! It was quite tedious to select the photos because there were about 200 photos and we could only select 23 photos.Yar 23 only because that is part of our package. Princess had to be firm and discard those photos which she would like to have but due to constrains go for the nicest of the nice ones. But..........in the end, after being psychoed by the lady boss of the bridal studio, we took enough photos to make up 2 albums. I bet lady boss must be jumping for joy and took her whole team out for supper that night after we left. They were richer by a 4 digit number which we refuse to reveal. Heart ache.. But then now we think about it, it's an amount that has to be spent lar. We bust the initial budget that was set......... Have to eat bread for the next few months...

2)Confirmed a photography,videography package for actual day. Finally one more pending issue confirmed in the checklist.

3)Princess has decided to undertake the task of doing up the photo montage by herself. There's still 4 months more to go. Hopefully can do up and complete soon!

4)More planning to be done in the next few months.. Jun will approach pretty soon!

Another rainy day. But we still went on our "honeymoon" a day after our solemnization. Reached Sentosa around 2 plus and the rain cleared for a while. Our spa appointment was at 5pm so we decided to just laze around and went to explore the area before our spa.

The concierge arranged for a shuttle bus to bring us there. Haha! If not, we would need a 10 mins walk.There was still a drizzle so we didnt really want to walk there.

We went to Spa Botannica and had a relaxing one hour massage.. Didnt bring swimwear if not would go the spa garden to walk around and relax in their numerous pools. This is life!!

After the massage, they brought us back to the hotel on a buggy! I have never sat on a buggy before. It was a bumpy ride and the seats were back facing. haa. Changed into something nicer for dinner since we were going to a nice restuarant. =)

Dinner was at The Cliff! Woohoo! Great ambience. Breathtaking scenery. Wonderful food. Service is tops!

First we had our bread. There were three types of bread. Intially we took two but it was a long wait for dinner to start so we had our second serving of bread.. Heehee

Next up was this dish which shall be known as Sashimi because we couldnt really catch what the waiter was saying when he served us the dish.. Heard something like moshi moshi..haha . Should be a slice of raw fish with sauces..
Appetizers! Scallops were fresh and thick. Once you take a bite, you feel "Wow" The mussels were also fresh! Not too hard. Just nice! When the waiter served the mussels, he poured a teapot of hot soup onto the mussels. The soup was heavenly!
Finally the main course! Beef is one of the best we have ever tasted. Juicy and tender! Prince ordered the codfish. Wow... If Princess who hates to eat fish can say that the fish tastes good and wants another bite, then its really good!

Both of us chose chocolate cakes for dessert.You can never go wrong with chocolate! Yummylicious!

The 3 course dinner lasted for 2 hours..OMG.. But this is fine dining and about savouring your food slowly. Wouldnt mind if we go back every year for our anniversary!

After dinner , we went to take a nice and relaxing stroll. Not too crowded as it was Sunday night. Then went back to rest on the comfy bed!

Next morning we had our buffet breakfast. Woke up at 8 plus so we could have a nice and relaxed breakfast. Then it started to rain again..So no choice. We checked out of the hotel and went to Vivo for a movie and some shopping before going back home.

Rainy weather but it didnt spoil our mood at all. =) A nice stay to remember

Prince and Princess are legally married!

Woke up early for our makeup to be done at the bridal studio. Prince bought breakfast over so we won't be hungry later.. hehe.I had to do his tie for him as it would be too traumatizing for Princess to teach him how to tie his own tie. I dont mind tying his tie for him anyway =) At 10am, off we went to the bridal studio.

Here's us without make-up. Nice and simple =) haha

There were several jams along the way to the bridal studio.. What to do.. saturday morning.. Everyone wants to be out early to enjoy their Saturday! Finally reached at 11am then my make-up artist started to do make up on me.... next was the hair style.. Didnt really like curls coz I felt it made me look old but make-up artist told me it would look nice and romantic.. Hmmm ok then.

We were done at 1pm, so we proceeded to Raffles Town Club.

A bit nervous when we reached, but felt better after seeing everyone. My Sisters did a good job by helping us to set up the place.. JP was a bit late.. Once he came, we went out of the room to do a march in.. Then we set down and the ceremony started, the JP was very nice. He prepared some simple lovely messages for us to read to each other. It wasn't too formal but it was very sweet and mushy.. Heeheee..

After the ceremony, it was photo taking session! Hope it turns out good. will upload more when the photographer gets it done in two weeks time! Then we started to attack the food!! It was yummy but Prince and Princess went around talking and taking photos.. In the end, we didnt really eat much...

We would like to thank all our family and guests for their blessings, gifts and presence. Really appreciate that!

Princess is feeling quite excited now. After months of planning for both the solemnization and actual wedding day. The solemnization is only a day away.

The bags of stuff are packed. The certs ready for signing. The rings which were once safely kept are now taken out ready to be fitted on our fingers.

After 4 years, 9 months and 1 day of being together, we will be legally married. The first day we got together, Prince sent me a message which I will not forget. =)

During this period, we had our lovely sweet happy moments but there were countless arguments and sometimes there were periods when we felt really down.. But eventually we would agree to forgive and forget and give each other support in whatever we do. You can only get feelings of blissfulness and happiness from the one that you love. Thank you my Prince =)

Update about the Palace

Prince and Princess went to take a peep at their palace recently. The blocks are up!

Look at the swimming pool! Its just a quarter of the entire pool! Such hot weather. Dont you wish you could just jump right into the water?

Checked with the agents. Probably can get the keys in Jan 08. Crossing our fingers!

A day of poses, smiles, fun , laughter and aching feet

Photo shoot is over! We were so worried as it rained buckets the day before! Woke up very early to have breakfast together before we took a cab down to the studio. Went a few rounds before we gave up and got out of the cab to find the unit on our own.

There it is!

Our photographer was at the door waiting for us. We reached there at 10am sharp! Very punctual huh..haha. After a short introduction, started off with makeup for her. Took almost one hour plus to be done with the makeup and then the make up artist did some touch ups for him and styled his hair too. Haha! She trimmed a bit of his eye brows too.

Quite funny but he turned out to be very handsome... ooohhh.. Haha. The photo taking started and we were quite happy to have our photos taken by a professional. Superstars for the day! It was quite funny as there were times when we didnt know who the photographer was referring to when he say look to your left...come to the right.. hold the neck..hold the waist.. etc..hahaha..But the funny stuff made us more relaxed with each other and the photographer as well.

She changed into 5 outfits for the indoor shoot while he too changed into 5 different shirts as well. By the time the 3rd outfit was done, it was almost 2pm so the photographer went to get lunch while the make up artist did a change of makeup and hairstyle for her..The effects of lunch set in while we were taking photos for the 4th outfit....she could barely open her eyes and smile....haha..But the mantra of the day was persevere and smile! So we did! Quite sad that it was drizzling already.

Couldnt take any outdoor shots at Sentosa as there was no sun at all and by the time we were done , it was almost 4 plus... Photographer suggested somewhere else and we decided to go along since there was no other choice.. She changed into the outdoor gown , went back to the makeup artist for touch ups and styling again and we set off! Damn hot outside although there was no sun.. Sweating while posing for the photos..haha.. After we were done, she suggested some greenery. Photographer was ok with it although he did mention by this time, he would usually have stopped.... We wanted more! mUahaha.. The rain had stopped and the sky was in a romantic light greyish tone....So off to the greenery we went! Took more photos there until we were quite tired. Could have gone on but it was getting late... So decided to stop. Went back to change and that was it. Photo shoot done. Happy but tired too.

Now we are waiting to see the photos! Photographer told us he took around 400 plus photos! Haha! Wanted to post some pics as a sneak preview to how we look like dressed up like superstars.. But then..good things should wait...

Oh my. Its our photoshoot next week! Have not really done anything to prepare for the photoshoot. I hope it turns out to be good. Supposed to go Fullerton Hotel for the photoshoot but because of the Asean Summit , they had to turn us away. Quite upset about it but there's nothing much we can do except to take more pictures on the actual wedding day.

Maybe we will just ask the photographer to suggest another place. Please help us to wish for good weather on 21 Nov 2007!!

Most of our invitation cards have been given out. For our solemnization ceremony, we are only inviting our family, close relatives, best men and bridesmaids. A very simple ceremony for them to witness. We would love to invite more but considering the limitations of the place and funds we have, we have to proceed as such. The grander party will be held next year!! Looking forward to it! Hehe

Brothers' Meeting

The Brothers' meeting was held shortly after the bridesmaids' meeting. Hahaha. We didnt arrange for both groups to meet together as it could be quite awkward to dine together the first time they meet.Hmm wondering if the brothers are disappointed at this decision..hmmm hahhaa.. Anyway its less than a month to our solemnization. There are still some more stuff left to finish up!

After several weeks of pondering where we could go for a short trip after solemnization ..with limited funds and limited days of leave we could spare. We decided to thrash out ideas of Bintan, Redang etc and go back to a meaningful place. =) We decided to take up a one night package at Sentosa! haha! Its the place where the proposal took place and a lovely place minus the crowds. As long as we are together and happy, it doesnt matter if we didnt venture out of the country. The real honeymoon can wait till Jun next year!

We had our first official bridesmaids meeting on Saturday last week!Passed them the invitation cards and also the plans and timing for 8th Dec the day of our solemnization :) Very fast! Around one more month to go! We had a great time chatting over dinner. It feels weird that the buddies in my life are all gathered together and now they know each other..haha. My ROM gown story

Actually during the first fitting, I had chosen a ROM gown. But after I went back , I started to regret because the cost of rental didnt really match the value of the gown. It was much too long for me and I felt I looked quite matured in that gown. I think there wasnt much of a choice and I was too happy trying on and made a very hasty decision. Then on the day before the second fitting, I found a very nice ROM gown which I liked a lot and I felt that it was really way much nicer and cheaper than the cost of renting the other gown! The best was I get to buy and keep it because I found it in a specialty gowns store!! I pleaded with the sales person to reserve it for me as I wanted to try it on for Jay and then I sent a pic of me in that gown (heehee.. I secretly took a pic in the dressing room :p) to him and one of my bridesmaids for discussion. The sales person kindly agreed as she told me that that they carried only 2 gowns per size and that gown was the last piece!! I immediately knew that the gown was made for me!! Hahahahaha. But to avoid making a rash decision, I decided to go back the next day with Jay. I had to cancel my rental of the gown at my bridal studio too. So there would be neogotiations required. I wasn't 100% confident that they would be willing to cancel the rental.

The next day, I made my decision to buy the gown with Jay's support! We agreed that the gown was really much better and value for money! So we went to the bridal studio and I told my co-ordinator about it. She was very kind and requested to take a look at my gown. She commented that it was really nice and said that she would wish for me to get something that I really liked too! =) That was very nice of her! So the deposit for my gown went to Jay's suit instead. Phew!
Anyway we managed to choose Jay's suit and my outdoor photoshoot gown as well. Cant wait for the photoshoot!!

We went to try on our ROM and Wedding day attire today! So excited but tiring.. I tried on lots of gowns and I loved every single one of them!Couldnt really decide which one I should choose. Had to ask Jay and some of my friends who were around to vote and decide.. Hahaa.. In the end, we only managed to choose some of my gowns and return on another day to continue! Shall update soon!

We bought our rings!

Hey! Its exactly one year to our Wedding Day! That is so exciting!

So we have decided to get our wedding bands today. Went to Goldheart and chose a pair of Celestial Rings. Charlene's favourite! The sales lady who served us was the same lady who served Jay when he went to buy the proposal ring. The lady just came back from her maternity leave and its her first day back!. What a nice coincidence. =)

We need to wait two weeks to get our rings. They have given us the ring pillow and the Celestial Star Gazer. Cant wait to get the rings although we can only officially put it on on 8th Dec. ^_^

He proposed to me one day before my birthday. 15 November 2006.

15 roses with two cute little bears on top! This was what he gave me when I met him at the MRT station.

He was supposed to do all the planning so I just kept quiet and followed him. He tried to tricked me a few times that we were going elsewhere but as I had guessed he brought me to HarbourFront Station .. hahahahaha.. He kept telling me that I must not peep into the bag that he was holding at all times .. hmmmmmm... I had to force myself not to peep at the bag no matter how curious I was..hehe

We went to the hawker centre for Hokkien Prawn noodles..Yummy! While we were eating, it started to rain.... Surprisingly, after we finished eating, the rain stopped for us =)

We boarded the bus to .... SENTOSA !!!!! Been such a long while since we went there.. First stop was to UnderwaterWorld.. hehehehehe.. Wah I was carrying the big bouquet of flowers walking around.. So it was quite funny lar..hehehe.. We went a few rounds on the travellator and looked at all the fishes swimming around ..

After tea, we ended up at Rasa Sentosa Resort.. At first he told me he brought me there just to look around and explore..I didnt believe him lar.. haha..In the end, he brought me to the Health Club and Spa!! Ahhhhhh!! SPA!!

He told me that we would be going to Vivocity for dinner .. In the end , we took the shuttle bus and arrived at the Sentosa Resort and Spa!! We went to The Cliff for dinner.. He had made a reservation there!!! Wow its such a nice place..Ambience was great and it overlooked the sea!! Very romantic!! Much more romantic than the rooftop resturant at the Esplanade.. I ordered a Wild Seabass and he ordered a Veal fillet.. They had specially flown in a top chef from France for this period so that explains the exorbitant pricing..wow.... They served us a complimentary appetizer from the chef. While waiting for food , he told me to close my eyes and wait.. I was like thinking.. Hmmm..What is he going to do... Then I felt him pull something over my neck and when I opened my eyes.. I saw a necklace with a diamond pendant!!! AHHHHHHH!! My favourite Celestial diamond from Goldheart.. I was so surprised he bought that for me!!!! My birthday present from my Dear!!

Food came and although portion was small.. The taste was great!! Wow!! Fantastic!! great!! We enjoyed our food with the magnificient view around us..

After the expensive dinner, we wanted to take the cable car back .. He went to check with one of the hotel staff and she told him that it was too late as the cars were not operating anymore.. He was quite disappointed .. We took the shuttle bus back to the Departure Centre.. I asked him to check with the bus driver if the cable car was still in operation and he said YES!! Wow so excited coz it meant we could take the cable car after all!! He went to check with one more Sentosa staff to double confirm and this time he was very sure that we could take the cable car.. Yeah !! I was quite excited because I had not taken the cable car before.. Haha..

Bought tickets and I was so scared when the cable car moved up in the air.. AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! So high up and suspended by the wires or whatever in the air... But the sight was beautiful..I never knew Singapore was so beautiful top down.. He kept asking me to look down.. ahhhhhh!!

After we crossed the Tower, He suddenly kneeled down with a Celestial Diamond ring in hand.... He proposed to me ........ Gasp!! It was a very beautiful moment.. Up in the air with thousands of twinkling lights below.. I asked him some questions to hear what I wanted to hear before finally agreeing.. "Yes" =) Want to cry liao.. Hehee... Really very touched by all that he had done for me.. Not just this day but ever since we got together and went through a lot regardless if it was unhappy or happy..

This is a milestone for us after being together for 3 years plus.. Really appreciate all that he did to plan for this special day.. There were some unexpected problems which cropped up but he managed to overcome them to create this perfect day not just for me but for us It has been a real wonderful day for me. I won't forget this special day =)

The day we became a couple

We arranged to have dinner together after school and met at the bus stop. Bumped into Mr Buaya at the MRT. Opps!! So paiseh! We then went to Suntec City to walk around and chat. Went to the Fountain of Wealth area to sit down and relax.. That was the place where we officially became a couple. After going out and meeting for a few times , we have developed very special feelings for each other, beyond just friends. We just feel happy and at ease whenever we are together. ^_^

I remembered that he asked me out for a date after his dragonboat training. We met at PS for a movie. Our very first movie! "Catch me if you can" Anyway when I first saw him at the MRT station, I was quite shocked because he went to dye his hair Brown with his dragonboat buddies. Haha. So bright! But he looked so cute with his tanned face and brown hair. We went to McDonalds for an early dinner and he went to take a McDonalds balloon for me. So paiseh... He gave me a pair of kissing Mashimaro.. The kind that is attached to each other , when you separate them they are joined back together again.. Hehe. After that we took a neoprint! Then we went to watch the movie. It was a very nice and sweet date which eventually lead to more dates... =)

How We Met

Our lives changed when we were introduced by a very unlikely matchmaker, LOL. I only remembered that I was 'forced' to meet up with him at the school canteen. At first, it was very funny lar coz we both paiseh about being forced to meet each other. In the end, Mr Matchmaker gave us each other's ICQ number and we began to chat with each other............

Our Solemnization Venue Confirmed! - Raffles Town Club

We have finally decided on Raffles Town Club to hold our solemnization after much consideration. Paid the deposit for our Solemnization Photographer as well. Now only left with deciding on a JP, getting our rings and the dress and suit. Still have more than half a year left to slowly plan. ^_^

Today, we made our way to Holland V to dine at Fosters - The English Rose Cafe. One of Charlene's favourite restaurants! So we decided to take a look at the place again to determine if we could hold our solemnization there. The food is great and its a cosy romantic place. The only bad thing is the location and parking problems.

Shall think about it again.. Hmmm.. Now its between English Rose and Raffles Town Club..

Today we went to Raffles Town Club to look at their lounge. Its a bit troublesome to get there if you do not have a car but its quite near the MRT ,around 6 bus-stops .

The co-ordinator showed me the lounge which is a private room. Very cosy indeed. =)
But I felt that the lightings were a bit dim.

I like their poolside area but she told me its not available for solemnization ceremonies.
=( What a waste!

If I decide on this venue then I will definitely take photos at their poolside!
Cost-wise, its still affordable.Its just the location.. Hmmm

Today we went to Halia Restaurant to take a look at their package and have a feel of the place. It was raining buckets so we had to take a cab in. Hmmm not exactly that accessible. Wow it was so dark when we reached because we went in the evening after work. Was greeted by the co-ordinator who was standing at the entrance to receive us. Such hospitality! Very impressed. We settled down and had some drinks and talked over the package. The co-ordinator was very warm and friendly. Chatted for some time and we decided to have our dinner at Halia.Their service impressed us a lot! The ambience is really nice and exclusive. =) Anyway this is the first venue we are looking at and the price is a bit too steep. We are planning to keep our guest list to the minimal.

Initially we just wanted to have a very simple solemnization which would not incurr too much costs because we are spending quite a lot on our house and wedding dinner. But there are some logistics and timing issue that we have to handle so in the end, I think we just have to budget more money for our solemnization. HEADACHE!

After several months of research, pondering and visits to several hotels. We finally decided on Fullerton! The first hotel we visited! Haha! So happy that we have made a decision. One load off our mind now. Our co-ordinator told us that they will only contact us again in Mar 2008 which is like one year from now. A long wait. Just like my house! I cannot believe that I signed on the papers for my house one year ago! Thats real fast! Haha.

Although deciding on Fullerton might burn a big hole in our pockets, we feel that this is a once in a lifetime event and we hope to make it a memorable day for everyone and ourselves.

Seriously i don't think my humble words can fully express my feelings for this amazing and wonderful girl. A caring and considerate girl, Charlene is a model example of how a girlfriend should be and i am very fortunate to be able to call her mine.

I swear to anyone who may listen, that i will always take good care of her and give her my specially concocted TLC. I will also provide all kind of support for her: emotionally, financially, physically, religiously, physiologically so that she will be the most blessed girl in Woodlands!
